Discover what sets the Thai edition of Aquarius apart from the standard version, including language and licensing details, to decide if it's right for you.
Quick answer
The Thai Aquarius edition is essentially the same game as the original, but with Thai packaging and rules, while the action cards remain in English. It's a great choice if you want a unique deck or play with Thai-speaking friends.
Language and packaging differences
The most obvious difference is the language. The Thai Aquarius edition comes with packaging and a rulebook entirely in Thai. This makes it ideal for Thai speakers or collectors who appreciate localized versions.
However, the text on the action cards themselves remains in English. So if you're a native English speaker, the gameplay experience is unchanged, but you'll need to navigate Thai instructions for setup and rules.
Licensing and availability
This edition is licensed by Swan Panasia, a well-known board game publisher in Asia. This means the quality and authenticity are on par with the original, but it may be harder to find outside of regions where Swan Panasia distributes.
Trade-offs at a glance
- Thai packaging and rules: The box and rulebook are in Thai, which may be a barrier for non-Thai speakers but a plus for collectors or Thai-speaking households.
- English action cards: All action cards retain English text, so the in-game experience is identical to the standard edition.
- Licensed by Swan Panasia: The edition is officially licensed, ensuring the same quality as the original, but distribution may be limited. Check availability if you're outside Asia.
Product facts
- Thai Aquarius: Packaging and rules are entirely in Thai; action card text is in English. If you don't read Thai, you'll need to reference the standard rules or a translation, but the core gameplay remains accessible.
