Nanofictionary Blanks Expansion

Nanofictionary Blanks Expansion - Main image
$3.35 $5 In stock

Use your imagination or story elements from the books you’re reading and a permanent marker to create new cards to add to Nanofictionary, the card game of telling tiny stories. Nanofictionary was even designed to accommodate such creativity…the game was deliberately illustrated with simple, black and white drawings, so that they’d combine nicely with homemade cards and hand-doodled illustrations. And teachers: one expansion pack contains 3 each of the four story elements, allowing 12 students to work in groups on three different stories. Can also be used as a creative way to do a book review!

Bought these to expand the game with my own inside jokes and they work perfectly with a fine-tip Sharpie. The blank cards match the originals exactly, so nobody can tell which stories came from the box and which I made up.

My kids have been drawing their own characters on these blanks with permanent marker for weeks now, and the card stock handles the ink without bleeding through. It's a cheap way to keep the tiny-story game going after you've memorized the original deck.

These blank cards saved game night when our usual inside jokes got stale — we started writing characters straight out of the novel we're reading, and suddenly everyone wanted a turn. The card stock takes permanent marker cleanly with no smearing, which matters when you're scribbling fast.
